ਜਿਤਨਾ ਦੇਖਾਂ ਉਤਨਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਜੀ ਚਾਹਵੇ

ਜਿਤਨਾ ਦੇਖਾਂ ਉਤਨਾ ਦੇਖਣ
ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਜੀ ਚਾਹਵੇ,
ਅਜਬ ਭੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ
ਖਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੱਧਦੀ ਜਾਵੇ,

ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ
ਰਹਿ ਸੱਜਣਾ,
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦੇਖਾ ਜੇ ਪਲ ਤਾਂ
ਨੈਣੀ ਨੀਰ ਨਦੀ ਵਗ ਆਵੇ,

ਵੇਖਾਂ ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ
ਯਾਰ ਮਹੀਵਾਲ ਦੇ,
ਸੱਸੀ ਯਾਦ ਪੁੱਨਲ ਦੀ
ਵਿੱਚ ਭੁੱਜ ਭੁੱਜ ਜਾਵੇ,

ਆਹ ਮਾਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ
ਮਜਨੂੰ ਆਖਦੇ ਨੇ ਲੋਕੀਂ,
ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ
ਧੁੱਖ ਧੁੱਖ ਬਲ ਬਲ ਜਾਵੇ,

ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਕਰੋ ਕੋਈ
ਇਲਾਜ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਮਰਜ਼ ਕਾ,
ਦਰਦ ਹੀਰ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਕਾ
ਕੋਈ ਤਬੀਬ ਸਮਝ ਨਾ ਪਾਵੇ!

A good night's sleep

How beautiful is
a good night's sleep!
like a mother it keeps.

I have often come
home, burdened and
heavy, and fallen
face flat into the bed,
yet when I have
woken up next day,
of tiredness I
could not feel a shred,

and in the early
morning godly hour,
I can often sense the
yesterday's dirt
being washed from
the mind, by the
gentle blows of shower,

be glad if you
get it ample
un interrupted
sound and gentle

for there is
nothing like it.
