Chappal Chor

Whose slippers these are I think I know,
He is praying in the temple though,
He will not be able to catch me,
I think I can take them and go.
But the paanipuri waala is giving a hard stare,
He knows for what purpose I am here,
Must wait for him to get busy,
Otherwise I will loose even the one I wear.
Meanwhile lets stroll and move around,
who knows a wallet full of cash may be found,
alas! Lady Luck never smiles on me,
all I can see Is dry leaves and pebbles on ground.
Behold! the devil has taken the command,
Here comes a boy, his sister, his mother, his aunt,
And when it is your time when it is your day,
Paanipuri is what these messengers of devil want.
A quick Sleight of hand and we are done,
Parted with the old and I am with new one’s,
Nows lets quickly run away somewhere far,
Because getting caught is bad and not fun.
