He had deep curiosity,
he had sharp intellect,
when he was born.
He rarely needed help,
he was very diligent,
of his own he could explore.
He had magnificent concentration,
for hours he could dedicate
himself to a task,
without getting bored.
Then as he started to
murmur and speak a little,
we disturbed his activities,
we started to teach him
and continued doing
with each day more and more.
He picked up all the stuff
learned the alphabets,
learned the numbers
and did a bit even more.
Then he started asking questions
which for few days
we answered gladly
and than we told him
all this asking is nonsense,
and to his exploration
we shut the door.
Then as all children
he was sent to a place
called school, to learn the
predetermined things
for numbered hours
ah! his daily chore.
and from there he
developed a hatred
for learning and exploration
though well in his exams
often he did score.
now he was a boy
and the curiosity and questions
resurged once again more
he applied all that
made a few things
by combining all the
junk he could get
his hands on.
but this time our reactions
were even more harsh
and he got scoldings
both at school and home.
he questioned he cried
he revolted he tried
but all his stuff
into the garbage was thrown .
and so ended his
journey into the world
of exploration and unknown
from thereafter he did
like everybody does
crammed and wrote
but did not question
did not apply
did not try to explore
and now we wonder
how such an intelligent boy
could not do something more.
