I WILL ABSOLVE YOU OF SIN

Two middle aged men,
by the end of the day,
came to a village,
and stayed at the inn.

Both having intentions,
disclosed to none,
went for a walk
in the village as came morning.

Saw equally both misery
poverty and ill literacy
the pious heart ached
and it delighted the cunning.

Both came back to the inn,
each one charting out,
their course of action,
at full flow thoughts running.

Thought the pious man,
first thing is education,
and for that we need a school,
the desire in his heart burning.

And in the meantime,
the crooked has his mind running too,
came up with a plan to woo,
exclaiming! it will be stunning.

Next day both went to village,
asking for funds to venture out,
patiently meeting everyone,
and meticulously explaining.

The scholar came back depressed,
with negligible funds,
why nobody wants the light?
baffled and questioning.

So he thought of going back,
to from where he had come,
and with the grieving mind,
he started picking and packing.

while moving out by chance,
he met the crooked one,
explaining that he offered light,
and in support he got nothing.

The crooked laughed at him,
and showed him his collection
of funds, collected by telling
that I WILL ABSOLVE YOU OF SIN.
