Before somebody ate the bird

It was a good good world,
before somebody ate the bird,

for his pleasure he took a life,
he danced while the birds kin sighed,
laughed his way out of the bar,
but did not see warning from the star,

the world has turned upside down,
a pandemic was to spread in the town,
God of death has came down on his shoulders,
crushing the weak and the older,

even before the news could catch the wire,
the virus has spread like a wild fire,
forcing everybody to shut the shop,
stay home stuck all around the clock,

a sure cure still not in sight,
nobody knows how long before it will be alright,
now from my little cage when i see the sky,
and ask in anguish why? why?

the same answer could be heard,
it was a good good world,
before somebody ate the bird.
